Over-indulgence

Well, I was cruising along nicely with my resolutions- going to Spinning and yoga classes, eating healthfully. I have also been working on my career advancement aspirations- going to meetings and fulfilling my weekly round obligations (which means I have to go in on my day off and audit our unit-very boring, lots of paperwork).

So when Sunday came around I decided to take a day off- I watched the entire series of Being Human on Netflix streaming, and ate nothing but chips and dip and baklava. I have been nursing my food and mushy brain hangover ever since.

My husband told me this quote: time is our most precious commodity and yet the thing which we waste the most.

I'll never get that day, or the subsequent foggy days since, back. But I can, as Carrie would say, "breathe and reboot."

So today I found myself in a similar situation as Sunday; that is, needing a day off. But this time I was determined to make my down-time more meaningful. I ended up sitting on the Starbucks patio with Josh chatting the afternoon away. And anytime I engage in stimulating conversation with people I love is time well spent in my book.

With a free day-no chores or obligations- what would you do with your most precious commodity of time?
